SHINKENCHIKU RESIDENTIAL DESIGN COMPETITION: BASIC SHELTER AND YOUR LOCAL MEMORY FOR LIVING

The view to the sea is the ultimate reference of the basic monastic cell. The architecture establishes the sequential frames from minimal exposure to the outside to total exposure in dialogue with nature, all based on the fundamental functions of the basic unit and event.  The machinery included makes it physically possible to inhabit the cell. Vertical and horizontal projections introduce the mechanism of a telescope not only as optical device but as a source of basic living.
