ÅBEN IDELKUNKURRENCE: EXPANDING THE COASTLINE-SUMMER HOUSES

The project stands before the sea, seeking both to define it and experience it. The summer house becomes an instrument for catching the view and transforming it into a leisure chamber. The ultimate prospect is the horizon of the seascape which is experimentally used to plot each parcel and slice it into the built unit. The leveling of the units with the horizon’s frame is actively used in the articulation of the neighborhood while controlling the sea it masters.  
The project reflects an attempt at self-transcendence, which stands in a symbolic relation to the concept of Danish leisure culture.
